About this project

Construction on the new 14-storey hospital tower is now complete, officially marking the end of the first stage of works for the world-class health facility.

The new Stage 1 tower, delivered under the $576 million Stage 1 Nepean Redevelopment, is one of the tallest hospital buildings in Australia – at more than 100 metres above sea level – with majestic views stretching to the Sydney CBD across to the Blue Mountains.

The Stage 1 tower includes an expanded Emergency Department, 18 birthing suites, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, more than 16 operating theatres and more than 200 additional beds in contemporary and bright in-patient units.

With construction now complete, a comprehensive commissioning plan is underway, with hospital staff preparing services for a staged move into the new facility over the coming months.

Construction of Stage 2 of the Nepean Hospital Redevelopment will start this year after the Stage 1 tower opens. The second building has been designed to seamlessly connect to the new tower to enhance the patient flow and experience.
