Why we ask for feedback

It's important that health services at Nepean Hospital meet the needs of the people who use them now and well into the future. The only way to achieve that is through regular, transparent engagement between the redevelopment team, the health staff who work at Nepean Hospital and the community members who rely on Nepean Hospital for their care. Throughout the planning, design and delivery of the redevelopment, we have continually sought feedback and advice to inform the design and the models of care of these facilities.

Stage 1

Extensive consultation has been completed with staff and consumers to identify the clinical needs and design of the Stage 1 tower as part of the planning stage.

In November and December 2018 the project team sought feedback from the community on the look and feel of public spaces, such as waiting areas, outside areas and public entrances in the new Stage 1 hospital tower. During the consultation period we spoke to 1,031 community members (562 people via online survey and 469 people via face-to-face consultation).

Feedback received on public spaces in the Stage 1 tower from the consultation period were considered as part of the final design. Comments made around the day-to-day operation of the hopsital and health services were shared with the relevant departments for consideration.

Stage 2

Construction is underway for a new hospital building at Nepean Hospital which will seamlessly connect to the 14-storey tower. Extensive feedback was undertaken to help inform the planning and design of the building - much of which occured during covid so had to be done online and virtually. A list of some of the feedback is captured here.
