Nepean Redevelopment Budding Builder Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. By entering into the Nepean Redevelopment Building Competition (Competition), the entrant accepts these terms and conditions.
  2. The purpose of the Competition is to build a replica of the Nepean Hospital Redevelopment using LEGO® blocks or similar toy construction building blocks – (the ‘Building Model’).
  3. The Competition is being run by Health Infrastructure and Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (the ‘Organisers’).

 Eligibility
  1. Entries are open to children aged between 5 – 12 years:
    1. who live or go to school in the Penrith, Kingswood and Blue Mountains area (LGA) and for which can be submitted by individuals or by group(s) on behalf of an eligible local school); or
    2.  whose parents/guardians/immediate family members work at Nepean Hospital.
  2. All individual entrants must have the permission from their parent/guardian over the age of 18 to enter this Competition. All group entries on behalf of an eligible local school must have their entry signed by their teacher.
 
Entry requirements
  1. Entrants are required to complete the supplied entry form and supply photo(s) of their Building Block Model by the Competition Closing Date.
  2. The Competition Closing Date is 6pm on Friday 6 September 2024. After this date no further entries to the Competition will be accepted.
  3. The Organisers are not responsible for any lost, late or misdirected entries not received for any reason.
  4. Entry form and Competition details can be downloaded from the Nepean Redevelopment website at http://www.nepeanredevelopment.health.nsw.gov.au or can be requested via email at

  5. Entrants can either email their completed entry form and photo of their Building Model to:  HI-nepeanredevelopment@health.nsw.gov.au  
    Or, post it or drop it in to Nepean Redevelopment Integrated Project office – Level 2, Building D, Nepean Hospital, Derby Street, Kingswood 2747
  6. The Organisers reserve the right to request the entrant verify its eligibility for the Competition, and the Organisers may (at its sole discretion) disqualify any entry who cannot provide suitable proof of their eligibility, or who has breached any of these terms and conditions, or who has tampered or jeopardised the fair and proper conduct of this Competition.
  7. Each individual or group (on behalf of a school), may only enter the Competition once. More than one group can enter per school.
  8. Entries which are incomplete, incorrect, offensive, non-serious or incomprehensible will be ruled ineligible.
  9. The entries will be judged with 3 entries shortlisted for public voting in determining the Competition winner. The judging will be based on the creativity of the replica, and how well the entry has captured the likeness of the new Nepean Hospital building based on the artist’s impression supplied as part of the entry form.
  10. Judging for the three shortlisted entries will be conducted by a panel including representatives from the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, and Health Infrastructure. The judging panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  11. The shortlisted entries to the Competition will be notified by telephone or email within 21 days from the Competition Closing Date.
  12. The shortlisted entrants must deliver their physical Building Model to the Organisers where they grant a right for the Organiser to use, reproduce or display their models for promotional purposes.
  13. The shortlisted Building Models will be required to be on display in the Nepean Hospital foyer for up to 6 weeks for public voting. The winning Competition entry will be determined by the highest number of votes.
  14. The winning Building Model will become the property of the Organiser, where it will be permanently kept by the Nepean Hospital. The two other shortlisted entries will have their Building Block Models returned.
 
Prizes
  1. Prizes are:
    1. 1 x Apple iPad (RRP $559) and 1 x LEGO® pack (RRP $79.99) for the winning individual or winning group;
    2. 1 x LEGO® pack ($79.99) each for the other shortlisted entries (per shortlisted individual shortlisted group).
  2. If the winning entry has been submitted via an eligible local school, then the school will also receive a $1,000 Bunnings Gift Voucher.
  3. No compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or any other goods or services. A prize cannot also be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to by the Organisers.
  4. The prizes must be taken as offered and cannot be varied. If the prize is unavailable for any reason, the Organisers reserves the right to substitute the prize of equal or greater value.
 
General conditions
  1. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  2. There is no entry fee to enter this Competition.
  3. All costs associated with the entrant’s participation in this Competition including but not limited to any LEGO® blocks or similar toy construction building blocks, transportation of the model, and any other expense are at the cost of the entrant.
  4. The Organisers will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with this Competition or the prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by any applicable Australian law.
  5. Collection of prizes will be from Nepean Hospital.
  6. The winner is required to attend the official award ceremony, with this date to be confirmed by the Organisers.
  7. Any transport costs or ancillary costs to attend an official award ceremony at Nepean Hospital will be at the winner’s responsibility and cost.
  8. The winner consents to:
    1. their name and photo being used by the Organisers in Nepean Redevelopment promotional material, including, but not limited to, website stories and social media posts.
    2. being interviewed and photographed by local media at the official award ceremony.
    3. The hospital keeping their model permanently. If the entry used Lego bricks the school or individual will receive a replacement Lego pack (RRP 79.99) in addition to the prize pack.
  9. There is no obligation to return any entry form or photo(s) to any entrants.
  10. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO® Group of companies which does not sponsor, authorise or endorse this Competition.
