The structure of the new Stage 2 building has now climbed to level 4.
The Level 4 slab, which forms the roof of the new hospital atrium, was the largest concrete pour for the new Stage 2 building.
A total of 850m3 of concrete was used for Level 4 of the Stage 2 building. It required detailed planning and staging of around 130 concrete delivery trucks.
Between the concrete floors, the builders have commenced removal of the steel formwork as well as the installation of internal services such as electric, gas and water.
Works are also progressing on the loading dock with concrete footings being poured this week.
There is still a lot of construction activity on Barber Avenue so please continue to pay close attention to traffic signs and allow extra time to get to your appointments.
Construction is underway on a new purpose built Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Unit.
Works are progressing on the external brickwork and the installation of internal services.
Construction is on track for completion later this year and the new facility will open following a commissioning period.
