Excavation works continue at Level 0 of the new Stage 2 building, where the new kitchen, general services and "end of trip" staff facilities will be located. When detailed excavation is complete, the first section of the concrete slab for Level 0 will be poured.
Construction of a temporary loading dock for the hospital is progressing well with demolition works at the old Pharmacy and Microbiology departments. The loading dock is being temporarily relocated to the northern end of Building D while Stage 2 construction is underway. The temporary loading dock is expected to be completed in a couple of weeks. During construction of the permanent loading dock, there will be changes to staff access on Level 1 of Building D. Further updates to come.
Storm water works are also set to start on Barber Avenue in coming weeks, starting at the eastern end near Tresillian. During this period, access will be maintained to nearby services such as Tresillian and Somerset Childcare.
Across the campus, scaffolding works have started on the western end of the site for the new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Unit. The installation of in-ground services such as water, electricity and gas are progressing. The first slab of concrete is set to be poured next month.
