Nepean Redevelopment team visit Kingswood High School |
The Nepean Redevelopment team visited Kingswood High School last month as part of a maths collaboration with Year 9 students. As part of the project, Nepean Redevelopment team members, Dr Nhi Nguyen and Belinda Berryman visited the school to present information about the project. The following week the students were given a tour of the new hospital tower (Building A) at Nepean Hospital.
The students have been asked how they might design the new Stage 2 building at Nepean Hospital based on building measurements, scale and design principles.
In December, the students will present their building designs to the redevelopment team and hospital representatives who will choose a winner. We look forward to seeing all their creative designs. |

Stage 2 construction update |
Excavation works continue at Level 0 of the new Stage 2 building, where the new kitchen, general services and "end of trip" staff facilities will be located. When detailed excavation is complete, the first section of the concrete slab for Level 0 will be poured.
Across the campus, scaffolding works have started on the western end of the site for the new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Unit. Concrete pouring for footings have started. The first slab of concrete is set to be poured in coming weeks. |
Changed traffic and parking conditions along Barber Avenue
In the coming weeks, there will be changes to vehicle and pedestrian access along Barber Avenue to facilitate roadworks. This will require the temporary closure of some two-hour parking spaces on Barber Avenue.
Pedestrian and vehicle access to the Nepean Private Hospital, Tresillian and Somerset Childcare Centre will be maintained throughout the duration of the roadworks.
The P1 and Nepean Hospital Private car parks will be the best parking options during this time. Patients, visitors and staff who use the P1 car park can access the Nepean Private Hospital and Nepean Hospital from Level 2.
During the construction period along Barber Avenue, we encourage staff, patients and visitors to allow a little extra travel time to ensure they get to their destinations on time. Please drive carefully and pay close attention to traffic controllers and signage. Thanks for your patience and support while we progress these important works. |
